Above I have attached the summer reading list! Please continue checking the New Prospect Website throughout the summer for updated information on how to prevent the summer slide!
Parents,
Field Day will be Monday May 21st. Please make note of this! This year we are on teams and our class has the color Green. They are welcome to wear their red field day t shirts. But if you have any green hats, bandannas, hair color, sunglasses, etc. Please also make sure your kiddo has on closed toe shoes, shorts, and a water bottle. We will also be eating lunch in the classroom that day as well.
- What to do/bring Monday:
- Wear sunscreen!
- Bring a water bottle with your name on it and a snack that doesn't have to stay cold.
- Students may bring a towel to sit, wear a hat or sunglasses, and have a change of clothes for when the day is over if they wish. This is optional but we will have a lot of water stations this year.
- Students are responsible for any items that they take outside with them.
Reading
PLEASE make sure your kiddo is reading at home this summer!! Remember that one of the best ways to help your kiddo become a better reading is by having them read every night. Please make sure you have your kiddo read about 20 minutes a night 4 to 5 nights a week over the summer! :)
Math
We can not stress enough the importance of the kids learning their multiplication facts. 4th grade math teachers expect that students come in knowing their multiplication facts. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE still continue practicing multiplication facts :)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue practicing multiplication facts. We can not stress how important it is to know these facts. Everything builds off of those facts. We have noticed that many kids aren't studying their facts! The more successful they are with their fluency, the easier the rest of their math career will be.
Monday the 21st--Field Day

- Any items that are still at school that belong to your child will come home today. No backpacks on Thursday!
- Thursday the 24th--Movie Day & Last Day of School
- We will watch movies, eat snacks, and end our year in relaxation!
- Please do not send your child to school today with anything that has to be brought back home, i.e. backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. Lunches and snacks can be put in perishable bags.

It has been a pleasure teaching your children this year! I can't wait to hear all about how much they grow in 4th grade! I will miss New Prospect and all the students :) -Miss Wilson
